A backlight unit of an LCD is provided to arrange a plurality of light sources on a multistage light guiding plate and dispose a light supply unit at one side of the light guiding plate, thereby increasing the brightness of the LCD and making the brightness uniform. Multistage bending parts(12) are formed at both end portions or four end portions of a square-shaped light guiding plate(10). A light supply unit is disposed on each of the multistage bending parts to supply light to the light guiding plate in a horizontal direction. A reflection plate(30) is disposed above a container for containing the light guiding plate. The light supply unit includes a PCB(Printed Circuit Board)(22) and light sources(24) attached onto the PCB. |
