The plant for cooling hot rolled up metal strips, comprises a first shaft (1), which has a closed vertical wall on one side and a vertical wall with openings (5) on the other side arranged one upon the other or next to each other, behind which the coils are arranged in a second shaft (10) parallel to the first shaft, an axial-ventilator blowers (2) arranged next to each other on the upper end of the first shaft, louver dampers arranged next to one another on the lower end of the wall intended with the openings, a connecting channel (12), exhaust openings and an aerator openings. The plant for cooling hot rolled up metal strips, comprises a first shaft (1), which has a closed vertical wall on one side and a vertical wall with openings (5) on the other side arranged one upon the other or next to each other, behind which the coils are arranged in a second shaft (10) parallel to the first shaft, an axial-ventilator blowers (2) arranged next to each other on the upper end of the first shaft, louver dampers arranged next to one another on the lower end of the wall intended with the openings, with which the corresponding openings are lockable from the first shaft to the second shaft, a connecting channel (12) arranged at the lower end of the shafts above the blowers from the second to the first shaft, which is lockable with the second damper, exhaust openings lockable with the third damper on the side of the connecting channel turned away by the blowers, and an aerator openings lockable with fourth damper on the side of the connecting channel turned to the blowers. Air is downwardly blown into the first shaft with the blower. The walls of the first shaft intended on the side of the mirror image with openings are provided a further first shaft with regard to a vertical level. The further first shaft is intended to the walls with openings directed itself to the first shaft. The walls are arranged behind the coils in the second shaft joined with the first shaft and have the blowers, the first to fourth dampers, and the connecting channel. Holders for further coils to be arranged vertically one above each other are intended in the second shaft between the coils to be arranged nearly to the walls intended with openings. The openings of the walls have nozzles with guiding plates. The openings leading outward are provided with weather protection grills and/or bird protection grills. The aerator openings are formed as roof aerator. The plant is dimensioned for cooling steel coils/aluminum coils from a roller mill.
