A controlled electric voltage transformer which is formed by at least one magnetic core; at least one primary winding; at least one secondary winding, such that the primary winding or the secondary winding or both windings have a series of outlets; and a device for switching the outlets in order to adjust, within a predetermined range of adjustment values, the transformation ratio between the primary winding and the secondary winding, such that the switching device switches some outlets from the first series of outlets, at the beginning of a half-cycle of the alternating electric current supplied to the transformer.
