A sensing structure for mounting a water tank of a steam cleaner is provided to improve safety by turning on a reed switch only when the water tank is properly mounted at a body of the steam cleaner. A sensing structure for mounting a water tank(110) of a steam cleaner comprises a body(100), a magnetic body(200), a reed switch(300), and a control unit. The magnetic body, inserted to a part of the water tank, generates magnetic field. The reed switch, turned on and off by the magnetic field, is installed at one part of the body and electrically connected to the control unit. The water tank is mounted at the set position of the body when an operational signal is applied through the control unit, and the steam cleaner is operated only when the reed switch is turned on.
