An apparatus for scanning light and an apparatus for forming an image are provided discretely to control characteristics of a main scanning direction and a sub-scanning direction. An apparatus for scanning light includes a light source(21). A first optical device converts light generated from the light source to a parallel pencil of light. A deflection device deflects the light to a main scanning direction to expose a scanned surface of a scanned object. A second optical device guides the light to the deflection device. A third optical device allows the light deflected by the deflection device to be imaged on the scanned surface to expose the scanned surface. A light incident in the deflection device has a predetermined angle. |
