BATTERY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM AND DRIVING METHOD THEREOF

A battery management system, and a method for operating the system are provided to estimate precise OCV within a short time and to estimate precise SOC, thereby preventing overcharge and overdischarge. A battery management system comprises a sensing part which measures the voltage of a battery; and an MCU(micro control unit) which modifies OCV by using the first voltage corresponding to the first point and the relationship with the first point, and the second voltage corresponding to the second point after a certain time from the first point and the relationship with the second point during the charge/discharge does not occur at the battery, and sets the SOC corresponding to the OCV.
