PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thin and compact actuator having a simple structure. SOLUTION: The actuator S comprises a base board 1, a stage 2 provided oppositely to the base board 1, an elastic member 3 for keeping a constant interval between the stage 2 and the base board 1 by adhering to the stage 2 and the base board 1, where the elastic member 3 is any one of a rubber, a gel elastic body, a foaming rubber or a foaming gel elastic body having an elastic modulus in the order of 10<SP>3</SP>-10<SP>6</SP>N/m<SP>2</SP>, and a first moving means for moving at least the stage 2 in the X-axis direction of the stage 2.
