PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projector which can display an image which can be identified by a color deficient observer, and which can adequately determine whether or not a user has a color vision defect. SOLUTION: A user operates a determination mode switch 91 according to a pattern image for determining a color vision displayed on a screen, thereby determining presence/absence of a color vision defect of the user. When the color vision defect of the user is confirmed, an image processor 52 reads conversion data of suitable image information from a color conversion data storing portion 55, and performs color conversion processing for switching images according to a confirmed determination.
