PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To flexibly perform an operation by allowing the operation to be reliably performed from a remote place and expanding the range of functions for remote control. SOLUTION: A portable terminal determines whether or not a reception sub-address is added in the case of incoming (step S502), detects a number A being the number of digits of a password set by a user, based on the reception sub-address (step S505) when a remote operation function is valid (step S503), detects a number B being the password and a number C for designating processing to be operated (step S507) when the number A is determined to be appropriate (step S506), performs authentication based on the number B (step S508), confirms whether or not a numerical value coincident with the number C exists in a function correspondence table when the authentication is successfully performed (step S511), and performs processing corresponding to the number C when the number coincident with the number C exists in the function correspondence table (step S512).
