PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photodetector which suppresses upsizing of a device and an adverse effect on an outer world by suppressing a light quantity level of irradiated light, and simultaneously detecting highly accurately reflected light even in an environment wherein the light quantity level in a prescribed range is high. SOLUTION: In the photodetector, a control unit CU acquires background information by taking an image in the state where light is not irradiated by a floodlighting device 1, on the other hand, acquires a plurality of floodlighting information by taking images in a plurality of times in the state where the light is irradiated, determines a supplementary light receiving quantity CH equivalent to an integrated value of the light receiving quantity of a background in the floodlighting information based on the light receiving quantity of C1 and an imaging time T1 of the background information, and an imaging time T2 and the number n of times of imaging of the floodlighting information, and extracts pattern light by subtracting the supplementary light receiving quantity CH from an integrated value of each light receiving quantity of a plurality of floodlighting information.
