PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust brake device avoiding a spout of oil into an intake passage without impairing the braking force of an exhaust brake by suppressing the pulsation amplitude of intake negative pressure. SOLUTION: The exhaust brake device is provided with the exhaust brake 28 disposed in an exhaust passage 22 communicating with a cylinder 4 of an engine 1 and generating the braking force by closing the exhaust passage; an intake throttle 18 disposed in the intake passage 8 communicating with the cylinder of the engine and intercepting intake air flowing toward the cylinder by closing the intake passage; a breather 30 separating oil from blow-by gas generated in the cylinder and returning the blow-by gas to the intake passage upstream of the intake throttle; and a control means 54 for allowing the intake throttle to carry out closing control of the intake passage when the exhaust passage is closed by the exhaust brake.
