FLAME RETARDANT ARAMID FIBER CONTAINING INORGANIC CARBONATE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flame retardant aramid fiber having flame retardancy economically imparted by an easy method. SOLUTION: The aramid fiber comprises 3-50 mass% of inorganic carbonate having an average particle size of≤2μm and including at least one kind of metal selected from a group consisting of alkali metals and alkali earth metals based on total weight. Calcium carbonate is preferable as the inorganic carbonate and a copolyparaphenylene-3,4'-oxydiphenylene-terephthalamide is preferable as the aromatic polyamide. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
