PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a highly pure phospholipid little containing an undesired organic solvent, and to provide a highly pure phospholipid-containing composition obtained by the method. SOLUTION: This method for producing the highly pure phospholipid comprises (a) a process for mixing a fat or oil component with a low polar organic solvent; (b) a process for adding silica gel to the mixture; and (c) a process for eluting the phospholipid from the silica gel with the low polar organic solvent.
