PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress loss of light in a liquid crystal display as much as possible using light-emitting diodes with protruded lens parts as a light source.

SOLUTION: The device is provided with a light guide plate with a groove of a given shape formed at least at one side, at least one light-emitting diode equipped with a lens part of a protruded shape arranged in correspondence with the groove of the light guide plate, a first reflecting plate arranged at a top part of the light-emitting diode, and a second reflecting plate arranged at a lower part of the light-emitting diode.
