<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a wavelength converting member which is high in emission intensity and excellent in weather-resistant properties and reliability. <P>SOLUTION: In the wavelength converting member; a phosphor subjected to a cleaning treatment and/or a coating treatment is contained in glass material having a composition of 30 to 50 mol% SiO<SB>2</SB>, 0 to 15 mol% Li<SB>2</SB>O, 0 to 10 mol% Na<SB>2</SB>O, 0 to 10 mol% K<SB>2</SB>O, 20 to 30 mol% Li<SB>2</SB>O+Na<SB>2</SB>O+K<SB>2</SB>O, 5 to 15 mol% B<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>, 0 to 10 mol% MgO, 0 to 10 mol% BaO, 0 to 10 mol% CaO, 0 to 10 mol% SrO, 0 to 10 mol% Al<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>, 0 to 15 mol% ZnO, 10 to 20 mol% TiO<SB>2</SB>, 1 to 5 mol% Nb<SB>2</SB>O<SB>5</SB>, 0 to 5 mol% La<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>, and 1 to 20 mol% TiO<SB>2</SB>+Nb<SB>2</SB>O<SB>5</SB>+La<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
