PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make coloring pigment measurement in shop floor needless, charging of a required amount to a base coating material surely and simply performable, uniform kneading performable in a short time with conventional tools, and pigment container washing work needless. SOLUTION: A natural or artificial gel base material and a liquid or powdery pigment are heated and dissolved in water to be uniformly dispersed so that a colored solution with≤100 mPa-s viscosity is obtained, the obtained is filled and sealed in a transparent or translucent lidded container 1 to obtain a gelated colorant G with 20-150 g/cm<SP>2</SP>gel strength.
