PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rubber material capable of measuring strain without using a measuring device such as a strain gauge, wire electrodes, strain sensor, etc., and also the strain sensor capable of accurately measuring a large strain such as the rubber material. SOLUTION: This rubber material is provided by adding at least 1 kind of a carbon material selected from carbon black, carbon nanotubes and carbon nanofibers with the rubber raw material and having a correlation between the change of strain with the change of electric characteristics.
