PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device capable of setting a piece of paper into a manual paper feeding port easily. SOLUTION: This image forming device has a conveying means constituted by a pair of opposing rollers to convey a piece of paper, a shutter member arranged in the vicinity of the conveying means, abutting on a tip of a piece of paper to be conveyed to correct skewing of the paper, and retreated by turning to let the paper pass, a paper detection means for detecting a piece of paper arranged in front of an energizing means for energizing the shutter member in the reverse direction to the direction of paper conveyance and the conveying means, and an opening and closing member provided in a paper insertion part. This image forming device also has an opening and closing detection means for detecting opening and closing of the opening and closing member provided in the paper insertion part, a control part for controlling the image forming device, and a turning means for turning the shutter member in the direction of paper conveyance. The control part turns the shutter member in the direction of paper conveyance by using the turning means when detecting opening of the opening and closing member and returns the shutter member to its original position when detecting closing of the opening and closing member.
