A method for reproducing an audio song using a mood pattern is provided to select and play audio songs of each mood by reading out pattern data of the mood from the data base and comparing the pattern data with the audio song data recorded in an optical disk or hard disk. Pattern data of the mood is read out from a data base when one of moods is selected. An audio song corresponding to the read out pattern data is selected(S13). A list screen for the selected audio song is displayed and the audio song selected through the list screen is played(S16,S18). A plurality of mood types and the pattern data of the types are linked and stored in the data base in a wave form. The audio songs are scanned and converted into the wave forms, and the wave forms are compared with the wave forms of the read out pattern data(S14).
