A display device and a mobile communication terminal using the same are provided to realize two-way display by using a plurality of backlight units and a transmittive type LCD panel. A display device comprises a transmittive type LCD panel(130), first and second polarizing plates(135,136) attached on both surfaces of the LCD panel, a first backlight unit(110) attached to a front surface of the LCD panel, and a second backlight unit(120) attached to a rear surface of the LCD panel. A light shutter(140) is installed outside the first backlight unit or the second backlight unit to shut off the light, which leaks from the first backlight unit or the second backlight unit to the outside.
