PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric power steering device, in which a neutral point of a steering wheel is correctly set so as to properly carry out control in accordance with steering quantity from the neutral point. SOLUTION: Detected steering quantity is recorded as a set neutral point at the time when the steering wheel 1 is determined as in a non-steering state, and as a vehicle 100 is determined as in a straight traveling state. An actuator 10 to generate steering assisting torque in accordance with the detected steering torque of the steering wheel 1 is controlled in accordance with the detected steering quantity from the set neutral point of the steering wheel 1.
