PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an autonomous adaptive system which is attained by using a simple neural network and autonomously adapts to complicated environment. SOLUTION: The autonomous adaptive system has a basic control module which inputs many fine feature signals obtained from actual environment into a plurality of concept formation modules, temporarily stores the many fine feature signals formed by reverse direction processing, respectively by the plurality of concept formation modules and inputs the fine feature signals into the plurality of concept formation modules again, an integration module which selects at least one of a concept or an image signal by mutual vote from the output of the plurality of concept formation modules and an action module which determines an action from the output of the basic control module and the integration module, and at least one of the concept or the image signal selected by the integration module is input into a pertinent concept formation module and the reverse direction processing is performed.
