PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shutter device made much smaller in size, and an imaging apparatus using the same. SOLUTION: A shutter unit 112 is equipped with a substrate 300. A yoke 312, a coil 311 provided in the middle of the yoke 312 and exciting the yoke 312, and a rotor 320 turning in a predetermined direction by excitation of the yoke 312 are disposed on the substrate 300. A lens frame 300C is formed on the substrate 300. The yoke 312 has nearly annular shape so that it can be arranged on the substrate 300 to surround the outer peripheral surface of the lens frame 300C. By making the yoke 312 nearly annular, the yoke 312 and the coil 311 are gathered together in an optical axis direction, consequently, the shutter unit 112 is made small in size.
