PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a contact element allowing easy coupling of a shield to a plug-in coupler by a user, and coupling of the contact element to the plug-in coupler not to be lost. SOLUTION: This contact element for coupling the shield 62 of an electric cable 6 to the metal plug-in coupler is provided with a conductive wall segment 2 openable in a prescribed section, in a cut-out part adjacent to a flange range 10 of a nonconductive cable guide portion 1 formed into a cylindrical shape, and brought into a free condition by cut-out.
