PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing apparatus improved in the latitude in the photographing direction of an object. SOLUTION: An image processing unit 10 constituting the image processing apparatus includes a camera 14 for photographing an object 300; a projector 16 for projecting image light; a half mirror 12 for transmitting or reflecting a part of light incident from an imaging area to guide it to the camera 14 and transmitting or reflecting a part of image light projected from the projector 16 to guide it to the imaging region; and an optical trap 18 which is provided so as to change an arrangement between a position where the image light transmitted through the half mirror 12 can be received, and a position where the image light reflected by the half mirror 12 can be received, for attenuating the received image light.
