PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shell type needle bearing capable of improving setting when being press-fitted in a housing and capable of reducing trouble in press-fitting. SOLUTION: A tapered surface 153a or 152a is formed on an axial end outer periphery of a shell type outer ring 15b, and therefore, even when an axis of an opening of the housing 6 and an axis of the shell type needle bearing 15A are tilted from each other, the shell type needle bearing 15A is introduced into the opening by the tapered surface 153a or 152a during pushing of the shell needle bearing 15A to the opening of the housing 6. Thus, falling or galling of the shell outer ring 15b with respect to the opening can be restrained, and assembly can be smoothly performed even when a general purpose tool J is used.
