PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a powdery cosmetic having both excellent use feeling and sense of use, and to provide a method for producing the powdery cosmetic. SOLUTION: The method for producing the powdery cosmetic includes a slurry-preparing step for forming slurry by mixing a powder component, an oily component and a glycerol monoether represented by general formula (1): G-O-R (wherein, G is a residue obtained by removing one hydroxy group from glycerol; and R is an 8-12C alkyl or alkenyl group) in a volatile solvent, and a drying step for obtaining a dry powder by drying the resultant slurry. The dryer used in the drying step forms the slurry into fine droplets by mechanical shear force, and dries the slurry by blowing a drying gas to the fine droplets.
