PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an installation method of a passenger conveyor shortening a construction period of the passenger conveyor by dispensing with work of mounting temporary external facing plates in an installation place and work of mounting a proper external facing on the temporary external facing plates and removing the temporary external facing plates while securing safety to walkers when installing the passenger conveyor in parallel with already installed stairs. SOLUTION: The installation method of the passenger conveyor comprises a process for mounting the temporary external facing plates 3 for covering a balustrade region and a side face region of a truss 4 of the passenger conveyor, a process for carrying the truss 4 of the passenger conveyor 2 mounted with the temporary external facing plates 3, into the installation place and installing it in parallel with the stairs 1, and a process for mounting the proper external facing 5 on the temporary external facing plates 3.
