PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To adequately convey a printing plate without wobbling with respect to a face of a conveyance path in a simple structure. SOLUTION: This thermal printer comprises a thermal head 101 for printing on a flat printing plate P having a rigidity in the conveying state, and a platen which is provided to be opposite to the thermal head 101 and is adapted to convey the printing plate P. The platen is constituted of two conveyance rollers 21 including a main roller 41 provided to a portion in the vicinity of a heating section 101a of the thermal head 101 at the upstream side in the conveyance direction and a sub-roller 42 provided to a portion in the vicinity of the heating section 101a at the downstream side therein.
