摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a collisional accident between a work and a tool or the adhesion of chips to the tool at the time of tentatively working on a work with a projection on its circumferential face or an asymmetric work such as a camshaft by stopping the work or the rotating tool in processing to be shown to an operator by using an in-machine lighting system of a lathe. SOLUTION: An LED is used as a light source 21 of the in-machine lighting system of the lathe. This LED is made to emit light instantaneously in synchronization with the rotation of a spindle 1 when the need arises, and the phase of the spindle at the time of light generation is made changeable. Whether light emitting timing is synchronized with the number of the rotation of the spindle 1 or the number the of rotation of a tool shaft to which the rotating tool 11 is attached can be selected. In turning work, the work is shown in a stationary state, and in work by the rotating tool, the tool is shown in a stationary state. Furthermore, a light emitting mode in which the LED is made to emit light once in synchronization with a plurality of numbers of the rotation of the spindle or the rotating tool shaft can be selected.
