PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To measure accurately the length of a material and achieve efficient operation. SOLUTION: The material rack includes a rack 21 to stock the elongated material supplied to a transport device 10 and a length measuring device 30 which receives the material from the rack 21 and measures the length of the material by locating the material in a reference position P4. A material feeding unit is located at one end of the material in the reference position, measures the position of the opposite end of the material, determines the length of the material based on the reference position and the position of the opposite end, introduces the measured material to a processing device by advancing a pusher of the transport device, and retreats the pusher to the opposite end of the next material after the processing device has finished the processing of the material.
