SOLUTION: This clamping mechanism 10 comprises a receiving stand 1 having a groove 2 for inserting an ultrathin rod-like workpiece R, and a pressing part 5 having a tip 6 accommodated in the groove 2. Two pairs of indentations are arranged on the receiving stand 1 opposite to each other across the groove 2, and separated from each other in the extending direction of the groove 2 to cut out all or one part of the groove 2. Two pairs of projections corresponding to the two pairs of indentations are formed at the tip 6 of the pressing part 5, and the respective projections guide the workpiece R inserted in the groove 2 along the inclined face of the groove 2, and are accommodated in the two pairs of the indentations.
