PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase a repellent effect on harmful animals such as rat, etc., more than a conventional harmful animal repelling device. SOLUTION: The harmful animal repelling device 10 uses both irradiation with an ultraviolet light by an ultraviolet irradiation lamp 30 and supply of ultrasonic wave by an ultrasonic generator 40 and effectively repels harmful animals by two irritation means of ultraviolet light and ultrasonic wave which harmful animals dislike. When the harmful animal repelling device is equipped with a harmful animal detection sensor 25 and emits at least either of ultraviolet light and ultrasonic wave only when a harmful animal is detected, the harmful animal is surprised by a sudden irritation and the device is expected to have a high repellent effect. When the device has a constitution of ultraviolet irradiation only when a harmful animal is detected, since the ultraviolet irradiation lamp 30 is abruptly lighted up and the surprised harmful animal has high possibility of looking straight the ultraviolet irradiation lamp 30, the repellent effect increases.
