A meltblown web of polymeric polyester fibers, where the polyester polymer includes an aromatic dicarboxylic acid, a straight chained diol, and at least one additional branched or cycloaliphatic diol compound. The webs of the invention achieve high tensile strength values, and are particularly suitable for use as filter media.
