PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve accurate autofocusing by arranging a focus detection sensor with stable structure and without interrupting an operation of an operation ring. SOLUTION: A finder 2 is disposed on the upper rear side of a camera main body 1, and viewing from the side of the finder 2, a grip 3 is arranged on the right side of the camera body 1 so that the camera main body 1 can be stably held with right hand. A hood 5 is attached to the leading end of a photographing lens barrel 4 fixed to the camera main body 1. The focus detection sensor 6 is fixed to the lens barrel 4 so as to be located outside the ring-like operating member 7, and attached in the same direction as that of the grip 3 viewing from an optical axis, and arranged away from left hand with which the lens and the camera are mainly operated.
