PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a roller which improves a bearing function. SOLUTION: The roller 11 has fine recessed dents, and the average area of dents on the surface including the dents is in the range of 30 to 100μm<SP>2</SP>. A full crowning provided on an outer diameter surface 13 of the roller 11 includes: a first crowning 14a; a second crowning 14b; and a third crowning 14c. When the length in the rolling axial direction of the roller 11 is 2 times or less the radial length of the roller 11, the curvature radius R1 of the first crowning 14a in a position 32% of the length in the rolling axial direction of the roller from an end surface 12a of the roller 11 is R551-R1000, the curvature radius R2 of the second crowning 14b in a position 23% of the rolling axial length of the roller from the end surface 12a of the roller 11 is R321-R550, and the curvature radium R3 of the third crowning 14c in a position 15% of the length in the rolling axial direction of the roller from the end surface 12a of the roller 11 is R200-R320.
