A system and a method for managing assets with a WiFi(Wireless Fidelity) technology are provided to manage the assets in real-time without a worker, and check location information of the assets and equipments, asset information, equipment information, and moving path information of the moved asset or equipment by using the WiFi technology. A WiFi tag(10) is attached to each equipment(30), stores the asset information of the equipment, and transmits a WiFi signal actively. A WiFi writer(80) writes and edits data stored in the WiFi tag. Three WiFi readers(20) calculate distance information by receiving the WiFi signal from the WiFi tag at a predetermined position of an equipment room(100), and transmit the asset information of the WiFi tag and the distance information to a control server(40). The control server calculates current location information of the equipment by calculating coordinate values based on triangulation using the received distance information, checks the asset information and the moving path of the equipment, and collects/manages the equipment, location, and asset information. A management database(60) stores the information stored in the WiFi tag and data processed in the control server.
