<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical disk device where additional recordings can be performed for an optical disk in which recording has failed, and more optimum recording than failed recording can be performed. <P>SOLUTION: When it is discriminated in step S3 that the recording of data for an optical disk by controlling parameter and a position of an optical head has failed, unrecorded area in which data has yet been recorded from the recording area of the optical disk is detected in step S7, test recording is performed in step S8 by using the detected unrecorded area, appropriate recording adjustment information that is appropriately recordable from recording control information at the failure of recording, and this recording is recorded in specific area predetermined in the optical disk in a step 9.
