摘要 <p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an array waveguide diffraction grating which accurately and easily measures the error of an optical path length and has a high resolution and a low cross talk characteristic. <P>SOLUTION: The diffraction grating is provided with a first block 101 and a second block 102. The first block 101 is composed of a plurality of input waveguides 103, a slab waveguide 104, delay waveguide arrays 105, and slender grooves 106 filled with resin, and the second block 102 is composed of a plurality of input waveguides 107, a slab waveguide 108 and a plurality of output waveguides 109. A relative phase is easily measured because a circuit is interrupted in the array waveguide.
