ELECTROPHOTOGRAPHIC PHOTORECEPTOR AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrophotographic photoreceptor obtained by forming a surface protective layer of amorphous carbon which can prevent occurrence of image noise such as image fog, avoids lowering of the resolution of an image, and has sufficiently high bond strength and printing durability on an organic photoreceptor by superimposing and applying a pulsing high-frequency voltage and a negative pulsing bias voltage, and to provide a method for manufacturing the electrophotographic photoreceptor. SOLUTION: The electrophotographic photoreceptor 1 is obtained by forming the surface protective layer 5 comprising amorphous carbon on a surface of an electrophotographic sensitive layer 7 formed on a conductive support 2 by superimposing and applying the pulsing high-frequency voltage and the negative pulsing bias voltage on the conductive support 2 in an atmosphere of material gas containing at least hydrocarbon-based gas, wherein the surface protective layer 5 is formed under a pressure of the material gas in a range of 90-200 Pa.
