[Also in Group XXI] A tool 49 for constricting metal band 41 around a tube 10 consists of a lever 50, a notch 52 in the end of which engages an aperture in one end of the band 41, and pivoted to the lever in a link 51 the end 57 of which engages an aperture in the other end of the band 41. The pivot 55 on the link 51 engages a slot 56 in the lever 50 so that when the band has been constricted further movement of the lever 50 causes the link 51 to move towards the tube, so allowing the ends of the band to interengage (see Fig. 11, not shown). |
