PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique for measuring a position and attitude and a compound real feeling presentation system capable of obtaining the position and attitude of a camera in a wide area by utilizing a character already existing in a real space.

SOLUTION: The position and attitude measurement device characteristically comprises: the holding means for holding the information for specifying the character region and the positional information regarding character area arranged in real space; the detection means for detecting the character region from the first captured image data acquired from the real space imaged by an imaging device by using information held in holding means for specifying the character region; and the presuming means for presuming the position and attitude of the imaging device at the time of capturing the captured image data based on the positional information corresponding to the image positional information in the first captured image data of the character region detected by the detection means and the positional information corresponding to the detected character region maintained in the holding means.
