<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce damage to a solid immersion lens (SIL) by preventing collision of the SIL with an optical disk, in an optical disk device utilizing near-field light. <P>SOLUTION: The optical disk device is provided with: a laser beam source 32 emitting a laser beam; an optical head 35, including an objective lens group 33 positioned near an optical disk 31 for generating a near-field light from a laser beam emitted from the laser beam source 32; and a gap servo part 38, controlling a gap between the optical disk 31 and an end plane of the SIL 33b in the objective lens group 32, based on the returned beam quantity of the laser beam via the objective lens group 33. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
