PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent foreign matters from infiltrating into a display device, and to prevent ghost from generating, even if it is made thick. SOLUTION: The head-up display device 10 has a housing case 11 and a display source 12 and is constituted so that the virtual image S of an image, obtained by projecting the display light L of an image displayed on the display source 12 onto the windshield 3 of the vehicle from the aperture 11a of the housing case 11, is be superimposed on the foreground of the vehicle and viewed through the windshield 3 from an eye point I on the vehicle, to be viewed. The cover 20 for the head-up display is provided to prevent the foreign matter from infiltrating into the inside from the aperture 11a of the housing case 11 for the head-up display device 10, and transmits the display light L, and is formed to have nearly wedged cross-sectional shape that an optical path where object point light LB from an optional object point P on the display source 12 out of the display light L is transmitted and emitted is aligned with an optical path on an opposite side, where the reflected object point light LR made incident from the object point P and reflected internally is transmitted and emitted.
