Classes 20(3) and 20(4) A vehicle body having a channel 1, Fig. 1, around a door opening, is provided with a draught excluder or moulding having an effective portion 4 and an associated straight attachment portion 5, the attachment portion 5 being gripped by limbs 6 on clips 7 which frictionally engage the channel 1. As shown each clip 7 is of channel form with pressed out tangs 8 to bite into the sides of the body channel, and the limb 6 is pressed out of the base and has tangs 10 to engage portion 5. In a modification in which the effective portion is of sponge rubber and the attachment portion is a separate length of rubber or fabric bonded thereto, each clip is bent to form the limb 6 and has the channel engaging limbs pressed out of the clip. These pressed out limbs may be formed from the material between the limbs or on either side thereof. In a further form, Fig. 6, each clip is engaged over a flange 3 of the channel 1 and comprises a channel shaped part 13 having tangs 8 to grip the flange and a channel shaped part 15 with tangs 10 to grip the attachment portion 5, the outer wall of channel 15 being kinked at 18 to receive the edge 16 of a head lining 17. An integral lip 19 on the portion 4 may engage flange 3. In a modification the lower edge of the kinked wall of the clip is upwardly turned to engage a stiffening rib over which the edge 16 of the head lining passes and in further forms the stiffening rib is supported by pressed out tongues on the kinked wall. In another form, Fig. 7, the clip engages the wall 12 of channel 1. As shown in Fig. 12, the effective portion 4 is D-shaped and the attachment portion 5 lies directly below it. |
