PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a clutch device for actualizing smooth transition from a clutch engaging condition into a clutch non-engaging condition without causing tooth skip, if smaller. SOLUTION: A recessed portion 153 is provided in the cam face of a cam 45. A cam follower 51 is fitted into the recessed portion with the energizing force of a torsional spring 53 to give predetermined turn to a cam shaft 13. When the engagement of the cam with the cam follower is started, the clutch engaging condition is established and the cam follower is fitted into the recessed portion with the energizing force of the torsional spring 53 to give predetermined turn to a driven side gear 99. Thereby, a clutch member 93 is rotated as predetermined in the direction of moving a tooth portion 94 apart from a driving side gear 92. In the state that the cam follower is not fitted into the recessed portion, at least part of a rocking track of the tooth portion 94 of the clutch member 93 in the case of the transition of the clutch member 93 into the clutch non-engaging condition crosses the shape of the gear teeth of the driving side gear 92.
