A handoff control method of a mobile terminal is provided to improve clients' satisfaction by preventing a call drop caused by an error in processing handoff. A mobile terminal transmits the first pilot strength measurement message to a base station(S31). When a radiowave environment changes under a delay situation, the terminal transmits the second pilot strength measurement message to the base station(S32). The base station generates the second handoff direction message and transmits it to the terminal(S33). The terminal transmits a response message with respect to the second handoff direction message to the base station, performs the second handoff, and also transmits the second handoff completion message to the base station(S34). Although the delayed first handoff direction message is transmitted to the terminal(S35), the terminal does not perform the first handoff(S36). |
