<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the availability of a storage system loaded with a plurality of storage media to be degraded by write. <P>SOLUTION: The consumption value and an upper limit relating to write of each storage medium are managed. The respective consumption values and upper limits of two or more of the plurality of storage media constituting a storage medium group are specified, and residual usable values are calculated by using the upper limits and the consumption values for the respective storage media. On the basis of the respective calculated residual usable values, data inside at least one of the plurality of storage media belonging to the selected storage area group are shifted to the storage medium different from the storage area group. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
