<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sulfonic group-containing segmented block copolymer that is more excellent in not only proton-conductivity but also bonding properties to an electrode than existing polymers, and to provide a polyelectrolyte membrane for a fuel cell, and a polyelectrolyte membrane/electrode assembly (MEA) and a fuel cell using the polymer. <P>SOLUTION: The sulfonic group-containing segmented block copolymer has at least one hydrophilic segment and at least one hydrophobic segment in the polymer molecule, where the hydrophilic segment is mainly constituted of a structure represented by chemical formula 1 (wherein X is H or a monovalent cation; Y is a sulfonic group or a carbonyl group; n is an integer of 3-50; and m is an integer of at least 2) and has a softening point of 180°C or lower. The polyelectrolyte membrane, the polyelectrolyte membrane/electrode assembly and the fuel cell are obtained using the polymer. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
