PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lead-acid battery for suppressing decrease of liquid of a liquid type lead-acid battery, suppressing leakage of electrolyte or electrolyte water to the outside of a battery, and corrosion of a negative electrode strap, and having a maintenance free property and reliability. SOLUTION: A liquid type lead-acid battery with a sheet covering an exhaust port of a liquid port plug stuck on a lid, uses Pb-Ca alloy for a positive electrode latticed body and negative electrode latticed body, and uses lead alloy such as lead-tin alloy not containing antimony as lead alloy for a strap which joins same polarity electrode plates with each other. Thereby, the decrease of the liquid is significantly suppressed, leaching of electrolyte water to a clearance between the sheet and lid, and leakage of water to an outside of the battery can be suppressed. Even when the electrolyte is exposed from the negative electrode strap, the corrosion of the negative electrode strap is suppressed. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
